Falls Township Supporting Recovery

Falls Township Supporting Recovery (FTSR) is a specialized response to overdoses and other substance-related emergencies that occur in Falls Township and is activated by a 911 call. It is a collaboration between the Falls Township Police Department, Jefferson Bucks Hospital, Family Service Association of Bucks County and the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc.

FTSRThe FTSR team consists of a police officer and a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) who respond to substance-related 911 calls. CRSs are individuals in long-term recovery who have taken training to become certified. The CRS draws from their lived experience and knowledge of resources to provide recovery support, education, resources and treatment options. The goal is to make a direct connection from the community or hospital emergency department to drug and alcohol treatment, once the person is medically stable.  Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and for alcohol use disorder will be presented as treatment options. If the individual is not yet ready for direct treatment, harm reduction methods will be discussed and Narcan will be made available. The team will follow up in the community and by phone for up to 120 days to ensure the individual's needs are met.
