Certified Recovery Specialist
A Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) is an individual in recovery from a substance use condition who is willing to be trained to help others throughout the recovery process. In addition, a CRS:
- accepts and agrees to share his or her experience as a person in recovery from a substance use condition. This information is to be shared with colleagues, persons served, and others as the individual acknowledges their certification as a CRS;
- is willing to acknowledge and follow the Code of Ethical Conduct outlined within the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB); and
- is willing to attest that he or she has a personal, lived recovery experience in a continuous manner for a minimum of 18 months.
